Michael Doyle co –developer of the Shamrock Plaza celebrated a further mile stone in the development at Shamrock square Sunday 21st june with the unveiling of  the Civic Piece “Ceol” by Scottish Artist  David Annand  wonderful commissioned piece, "I am delighted to unveil this piece today My family have been on this site for generations and Doyles of the Shamrock always offered a seat to sit and chat, I hope this new Civic piece will provide the community of Carlow a place to take a moment to relax and view the surroundings" stated Mr. Doyle.

I believe the Chosen Piece by David Ammand and in scripted with the poetry of Deidra Brennan will most certainly  make a significant and positive contribution to the urban fabric and cultural heritage of Carlow.

I am delighted with the final outcome and am confident that this  sculpture will be thought provoking and inspirational and give immense pleasure to all those that see it. Added Mr Doyle.

Assisting in the Unveiling Des Hurley Chairman of Carlow Town Council Said “I am extremely proud to be part of the unveiling of this land mark Civic piece by  David Ammand  today’s event marks the completion of the Shamrock Plaza which has greatly enhanced the entire Town both from an environmental and economic development perspective.

Monaco Properties clearly had a vision to make the Shamrock Plaza a place to be proud of and a place where people could live, work and socialise together. I am delighted to see that this vision has been turned into a reality by the sheer hard work, dedication and a passion by Michael Doyle and his partner Barry Monaghan.

I would like to congratulate The artists David Armand and welcome him to Carlow for this important occasion on behalf of Carlow Town Council I would also like to congratulate our local artist Deidra Brennan for encompassing such wonderful poetry into David’s piece and  their foresight and devotion throughout the projects life.  The standard of this Commissioned piece and the Plaza itself will serve as a yardstick for all others to aspire to.

I suppose this particular Civic piece which is not only visually very pleasing but very accessible to the public is all the more special because it was chosen by the people of Carlow as their piece of choice earlier this year. stated  Mr. Hurley.
